What’s up guys my name is Thomas (Tom) Gacis and im a point guard for homegrown basketball. Growing up in a filipino household, playing basketball and watching the NBA was a norm that I got hooked on immediately. Ever since I was young I watched my dad and tito’s play basketball at KBS and Rooty Hill and that’s where I think my love and passion for basketball started.
I’ve been playing since I was around 6 years old, being fortunate enough to play representative basketball from top age U12 all to way to top age U18. Throughout my career I was able to play at State Cup, State Champs and even the National Junior Classic. I first joined Homegrown in late 2018, when I was training at the gym facility with the 2019 NBTC Squad. From there I found out one of my older mates RJ was in the team, which inspired me to play in NBTC when i was old enough.
Before we head off to our team training and spa later I would just like to thank Coach Rey, Tony and Andy for believing in me and taking me on this tour, even after I didn’t make the team initially. And I would give a huge thank you to my Mum and Dad who have supported me throughout my whole basketball journey. I hope i make you guys proud!
