Partnerships between Homegrown Basketball Australia and International training programs overseas

ABOUT THE PROGRAM

We are pleased to announce that Homegrown Basketball Australia (HGBA) is the official designated partner of the National Basketball Training Centre (NBTC) Global Games in 2022.

The NBTC Global Games is a qualifying tournament where the select teams of each country will have the opportunity to participate in the NBTC National Finals in SM Mall of Asia Arena, Philippines, scheduled in March 2023. Among the countries participating in the Goobal Games are Australia, USA, Canada, New Zealand, Dubai, and Italy-Europe.

HGBA TEAM TRYOUT

Second round of try-outs will be held by Homegrown Basketball Australia, and the players selected will be included to the HGBA squad that will compete in the upcoming NBTC Tournament.

NBTC GLOBAL GAMES (AUSTRALIA)

Date: October 1-3, 2022

Location:  Kevin Betts Stadium, Mt Druitt

 

In partnership with Homegrown Basketball Australia, the NBTC Australia Qualifying Tournament will be held on October 1-3, 2022 at Kevin Betts Stadium, Mount Druitt.

The National Basketball Training Center (NBTC) is a program that aims to scout, develop, and hone the best Filipino talent, both in the Philippines and in different parts of the world.

Not only does it allow young basketball players to test their skills in the game, but it also gives them an avenue to represent their Filipino heritage, no matter where they are around the world.

The program has helped notable NBTC alum and Houston Rocket’s very own Jalen Green.

With this new initiative, talents will have the chance to be seen up close and personal in different NBTC Qualifying Tournaments set up in the Philippines, United States and Canada, Italy-Europe, Dubai-United Arab Emirates, New Zealand and Australia.

Three Qualifying Tournaments would serve as a talent identification platform for any player of Filipino descent 18 years old and below. Select team and individuals would then have the opportunity to play against the globes very best rising hoop stars of Filipino lineage.
