How has Homegrown helped you with your basketball journey?

Homegrown Basketball helped me hone my overall skills in playing basketball. The training is intense, and the coaches are firm, strict but supportive. Management and coaches are approachable. They are helpful whenever I have questions. My coaches and teammates helped me as well to overcome adversities. They are encouraging and always there when you are struggling. I am enjoying being a part of Homegrown Basketball. We are like a family here from coaches, players and parents. I’m excited on what is ahead of us as a basketball team.

How did you start playing basketball and what drew you to the sport?

My dad is the one who drew me to play basketball because he always plays basketball. We always watch his game even though I’m a young kid that time. When I grew older, I started to like basketball because of my dad. I asked him if I can play, and he said yes. I started to play when I was 7 years old. My dad enrolled me into a basketball clinic and later joined a basketball team. It is fun playing basketball because you gained a lot of friends. It makes you competitive, but at the end of the game, you congratulate everyone and learn how to be a sports man. You learn from every experience. For me, basketball is not only a sport. It applies in my everyday life. Basketball teaches me how to respect people, gain friends, being competitive, celebrate triumph and learn to stand up in defeat. My virtue is, experience is the best teacher, so every game I played, I make sure that I learn from it. Take the positive and learn from negative, so next time I can adjust and make this weakness into my strength. I love basketball and I’m in peace whenever I play basketball.
