How has Homegrown/AUBA/MIC/SBB helped you with your basketball journey?

Homegrown and MIC have played an important role in my basketball journey, enabling me to grow both on and off the court. Homegrown has not only given me the chance to represent my Filipino Australian heritage in Manila but has also allowed me to connect with my cultural roots in a meaningful way. MIC, on the other hand, has been crucial in developing my skills through their basketball camps and programs, helping me refine my game and giving me the confidence to compete at a higher level. Together, these organizations have provided me with the necessary support and opportunities to thrive in the sport I love.

What position do you play and why do you enjoy it?

I play as a combo guard, and what I enjoy about this position is its versatility. It allows me to seamlessly transition between playing as a guard and a forward depending on what the team needs. This ability to play multiple roles not only keeps the game interesting for me but also enhances my skills as I learn to adapt to various situations on the court.

What's the best advice you've received from a coach?

The best advice I’ve received from a coach is the importance of earning the right to shoot and not being afraid to make mistakes. As a player, when you have put in the time and effort to work on your shots, you shouldn’t hesitate to take those shots during a game. This advice taught me to trust my skills and abilities, and it has given me the confidence to step up and contribute to my team’s success when the opportunity arises. I have learned that making mistakes is a natural part of the game and is an opportunity to learn and improve, rather than a failure. This mindset has helped me become a more confident and effective
