We at HomeGrown Basketball Association (HGBA) recognises the cultural diversity within our HGBA programs. More so, we have identified the same ethnic assortment throughout the Sydney community at large. Despite having a number of differing cultural backgrounds, two things that we all have in common is calling Australia home, and sharing our love for the game of basketball.
On the back of that information, HGBA is proud to present the HGBA ‘Talent Identification’ – Australia Day Tournament. An opportunity to compete against other cultural contingents in Greater Sydney and internationally. We found no better opportune time to host this tournament other than during the ‘Australia Day’ weekend.
COST: $600 per team
FEES INCLUDES: Team nomination, player registration, player insurance, player and team statistics management and broadcast, and team court fees throughout the duration of the tournament inclusive of round robin and final series format if applicable. Tournament shirts will be provided to all players participating in the tournament.
TOURNAMENT FORMAT: Maximum of six teams per age group/division. Teams will play each other once in the round robin matches. Top 4 teams will proceed to the Semi Finals where the format will be #1 vs #4 and #2 vs 3. Winners to proceed to the Grand Final where the winner will be crowned the Australian Day Tournament Champions.
Age Group:
PLAYERS ELIGIBILITY: Players will need to be on the age bracket they will be playing in. Players will require proof of age as the WSBA Committee members will randomly check if required.

IMPORTANT: Please be advised that $600 must be EFT payable to “Homegrown Basketball Australia Pty Ltd” (account details will be provided upon confirmation of team nomination and player registration) before the start of the tournament. Teams that do not pay the registration fee before the start of the tournament will not be eligible to play.
JUST SOME CONDITIONS….
ALL players will be required to register online to be eligible to play. Player registration is free however all players will need to cover part of their team registration.
Please be advised that registration fee must be EFT payable to “Homegrown Basketball Australia Pty Ltd” (account details will be provided upon confirmation of team nomination and player registration) before the start of the season. If teams wish to purchase the custom made uniforms directly from our supplier, full payment ($350 for jerseys only or $500 for the full set) is required before production can start.
